Optimizing Care Management and Risk Adjustment Scoring through Enhanced Pharmacy Benefits

Overview

With the Supreme Court decision upholding the constitutionality of the individual mandate provision of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA), the pace of implementation is moving at warp speed toward the law’s January 1, 2014 effective date. The ACA’s new programs, new data collection requirements, financial transfers and Exchange mechanisms all translate to untested, challenging and higher risk environments for health plans. The need to optimize Care Management and Risk Adjustment Scoring is more critical now than ever.

You will learn:

  • Improve opportunities for quality, safety, rating and risk adjustment accuracy
  • Expanded pharmacy benefits can actually lower overall healthcare costs
  • Clinical pharmacy programs offered by health plans, and their partner PBMs, will perform better with the more complete medication histories
