Jonathan P. Weiner, DrPH, Professor of Health Policy and Management and Health Informatics, Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, MD also holds faculty appointments at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in the Department of Medicine and in the Division of Health Sciences Informatics. He is the director of the training program in health services research and policy. He is deputy director of the Johns Hopkins Health Services Research and Development Center.
Dr. Weiner is an internationally renowned health services researcher, health policy analyst and lecturer. He is a member of the US Medicare Coverage Advisory Committee (MCAC) that provides scientific advice on which technologies the Medicare program should cover. He is the co-developer and Team Director of the Johns Hopkins ACG case-mix / predictive modeling methodology. Dr. Weiner holds a doctorate of public health (Dr.P.H.) in health services research from the Johns Hopkins University School of Public Health. He also holds an M.S. in health administration from the University of Massachusetts and a B.A. in human biology from the University of Pennsylvania.

    

Leslee J. Budge, MBA, Principle Consultant for Population Care Technology, Care Management Institute, Kaiser Permanente, Oakland, CA -  Ms. Budge currently works for Kaiser Permanente’s Care Management Institute (CMI) where she is the Principal Consultant. Her responsibilities include evaluating and implementing predictive models to identify high-risk members and defining CMI’s strategy to enhance e-clinical decision support capabilities. Previous roles in CMI were the development and implementation of panel support technology designed to help primary care physicians optimally care for their patients; and practice leader for the development and implementation of evidence-based guidelines for cardiovascular diseases. Past responsibilities for The Permanente Medical Group have included primary care redesign, development and implementation of the Diabetes Management Program, and implementation of the Population Care Registry, an electronic disease registry for diabetes, heart failure, coronary artery disease, and asthma. She has also served in operations management, medical group administration, and been involved in numerous quality initiatives.    

 

Brian E. Wolf, MD, Senior Medical Director, Health Management Integration, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Rhode Island, Providence, RI  - Dr. Brian Wolf is the Senior Medical Director for Health Analytics and Utilization Management, with additional oversight of Physician Profiling and Audit and Recovery, at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Rhode Island. He also serves as Physician Advisor for Wellpoint with responsibility for Utilization Management of the Unicare product. Previously he was site Chief of Surgery and Surgical Oncologist, as well as Division Chief of General Surgery for the Cambridge Health Alliance from 2002-2007. From 2000-2002 he served as Surgical Oncologist and Director of Surgical Services for Tri-County Medical Associates From 1989 to 1999 he was Surgical Oncologist and Chairman of Physician Executive Council for Harvard Pilgrim Health Care of New England. Dr. Wolf received his Doctor of Medicine from Boston University School of Medicine, Boston, Massachusetts and is Board Certified in General Surgery.

Russell A. Jackson, Editor, Predictive Modeling News  - Russell A. Jackson is a twenty-year veteran editor and writer on a variety of health care topics including Disease Management, Managed Care, Pharmaceutical and Clinical newsletters and articles. His work has appeared in the Los Angeles Business Journal, Atlanta Business Chronicle, Managed Care Outlook, Clinical Trials Advisor, The Nexus, and more than three dozen other newsletters, magazines, and newspapers throughout the United States.

Mo Masud, Senior Manager, Actuarial & Insurance Solutions, Advanced Quantitative, Services, Deloitte Consulting LLP, Hartford, CT - Mr. Masud has over twelve years of health insurance, financial services, commercial P&C insurance, public sector, technology, data warehousing and predictive modeling experience. His areas of expertise include: technical implementation and integration of predictive modeling applications across multiple industries, database design and data warehousing, business intelligence and reporting, project management, healthcare predictive modeling for private and public sector insurance, and development of decision support and expert systems. Mr. Masud has led numerous engagements of the implementation of large-scale predictive modeling, data warehousing, business intelligence and custom technical applications for commercial P&C insurance companies, integrated healthcare delivery networks and health insurers.

Russell D. Robbins, MD, MBA, Principal & Senior Clinical Consultant, Mercer, Norwalk, CT   - is currently working on ways of using healthcare data to improve quality and care delivery. In addition, he is helping to create new decision support solutions. Prior to joining Mercer, he served as a Medical Director for iHealthTechnologies, Inc. Before this, he served as a Vice President and Chief Medical Officer for the Symmetry product line of Ingenix. Dr. Robbins also served as the Medical Director for HealthMarket, one of the first consumer directed health plans, a consultant for the Trizetto group, and was in private practice as a urologist. Dr. Robbins received his BA in Biology from Swarthmore College. He obtained his MD from New York University School of Medicine and his MBA in Health Sciences from Union College in Schenectady, NY. Dr. Robbins completed his surgical and urologic residencies at New York University Medical Center.

Garett Jackson, Chief Financial Officer, National Patient Account Services, HCA Healthcare, Louisville, KY - started with HCA's NPAS in 2001 as Controller and was promoted to Chief Financial Officer in 2003. Garett is responsible for client reporting, communications, accounting and budgeting, strategic planning, decision support and developing return on investment models for key operational initiatives. He previously served in public accounting with Carpenter, Mountjoy and Bressler, a major CPA firm in the region. He is an active member of the Kentucky Society of CPAs and serves on the Technology Committee. He is a member of HFMA, as well as being an active member of the Customer Contact Center Network and the Health Enterprise Network in Louisville Kentucky. Garett is a founding Fellow of the Greater Louisville Health Enterprises Network Leadership Program. He is a graduate of Bellarmine University where he received his undergraduate degree in Accounting, with a minor in Business Administration while playing on the varsity soccer team

Joel V. Brill, MD, AGAF, FASGE, FACG, CHCQM, Chief Medical Officer, Predictive Health, LLC, Phoenix, AZ - is Chief Medical Officer of Predictive Health, LLC, which implements proactive patient care management solutions. Dr. Brill is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology, and has practiced for over two decades in California and Arizona. He received his undergraduate A.B. Biology at the University of California, Los Angeles, his medical degree from Chicago Medical School, completed his Internship and Residency in Internal Medicine at UCLA Affiliated Program, and a fellowship in Gastroenterology at Los Angeles County - USC Medical Center. He also completed the Management Program for Health Care Organizations at the UCLA School of Public Health. Dr. Brill is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at the University of Arizona School of Medicine, and a lecturer at the School of Health Management & Policy at the WP Carey School of Business at Arizona State University. He is Chair of the Practice Management and Economics Committee for the AGA Institute, has published extensively on practice management issues, and is on the Editorial Advisory Board for several medical journals.

Tom Wilson

Thomas Wilson, PhD, DrPH, Founder, Population Health Impact Institute, Loveland, OH - is a nationally known epidemiologist specializing in the evaluation of programs and products designed to understand and/or impact defined populations. These include disease management, case management, payment-for-performance programs, predictive algorithms, and electronic medical record use. Thomas is founder and board chair of the non-profit Population Health Impact Institute, dedicated to improving the transparency and credibility of impact assessment. He is also President of Trajectory Health, LLC. His former positions include the Corporate Epidemiologist at Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield, faculty research positions at Columbia University and UC Berkeley, an NIH post-doctoral fellowship position in cardiovascular disease, and a Fulbright award lectureship.
