Arnold Milstein, MD, MPH, U.S. Health Care Thought Leader, Mercer Health & Benefits, and Medical Director, Pacific Business Group on Health - Arnold Milstein, MD, MPH, is Medical Director of the Pacific Business Group on Health (PBGH), the largest healthcare purchasers coalition in the U.S. He is also National Healthcare Thought Leader at William M. Mercer. He has had an active academic and medical career focused on improving healthcare programs for large purchasers, providers, and government. He has published numerous articles and book chapters addressing healthcare program design. He is active in several professional associations and organizations, and is a member of National Committee for Quality Assurance’s national committee to develop HEDIS. In addition, he is a co-founder of The Leapfrog Group. Dr. Milstein received his medical degree from Tufts University and a Masters in Public Health and Health Services Planning from the University of California at Berkeley.
    

GRIPA Chief Medical Officer Eric Nielsen

Eric Nielsen, MD, Executive Vice President and Chief Medical Officer, Greater Rochester Independent Practice Association (GRIPA) - Dr. Nielsen attended medical school and completed his residency at the University of Rochester. He practiced internal medicine for 29 years. He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and the Certifying Commission in Medical Management.Since assuming his present post at GRIPA in 2004, Dr. Nielsen has championed GRIPA’s efforts toward achieving Clinical Integration as evidenced by GRIPA’s favorable Advisory Opinion from the FTC in September 2007. Under his leadership, GRIPA has developed guidelines by and for its member physicians, an IT infrastructure for sharing of clinical information between its members, and systems for monitoring the performance of members and the network.    

Deb Lange, Director, Analysis, Greater Rochester Independent Practice Association (GRIPA) - Deb Lange, MS has worked as the Director of Analysis and formerly as a Senior Managed Care Analyst for the Greater Rochester Independent Practice Association (GRIPA) in Rochester, NY since 2000. Ms. Lange leads the development of GRIPA’s Clinical Guidelines and their associated measures in support of the GRIPA Connect Clinical Integration Program. Deb is also responsible for developing and implementing GRIPA’s pay for performance reporting systems as well as GRIPA’s web-based clinical decision support system.
Ms. Lange has presented GRIPA’s performance monitoring systems at multiple national conferences.Ms. Lange received a Master’s degree in Medical Statistics from the University of Rochester in 1991 after earning her Bachelor’s degree in Math/Computer Science.   

Michael-Anne Browne, MD, Medical Director for Quality, Blue Shield of California - Michael-Anne Browne, MD has been a medical director for Blue Shield of California for five years.  As Blue Shield’s Medical Director for Quality, her responsibilities include the health plan’s medical director level relationships with external facing quality organizations such as Pacific Business Group on Health, IHA, and CHART, the California Hospital Assessment and Reporting Taskforce.  Dr. Browne also manages two teams of nurses, one of which performs oversight of the delegated IPA and medical groups.  The other team performs clinical quality review.  Additionally, Dr. Browne serves as the clinical lead for the Blue Shield of California Bariatric Quality Initiative, which led to the formation of a bariatric network.  She also heads the Cardiac Quality Initiative for Blue Shield.
