John Gorman
President and CEO, Gorman Health  Group

John has rich, unique and varied experience in Washington politics, Federal oversight, and the health care industry, which he brings to GHG as its founder and leader. John specializes in project management, strategic planning, and business development for the healthcare industry, with special emphasis on Federal programs and regulation.

John served as Press Secretary and Staff Director for U.S. Representative John Conyers, Jr. (D-MI), then-Chairman of the Government Operations Committee, the principal oversight and investigations panel in the House. Health care was at the core of John's legislative and investigative work for Chairman Conyers.

During the debate on national health care reform John was the chief lobbyist on health care financing issues for the National Association of Community Health Centers, the organization of Federally-funded primary care clinics for the medically underserved.

John then served as Assistant to the Director of HCFA's Office of Managed Care under both Bruce Fried and Rodney Armstead, MD. He provided day-to-day management and staff and external liaison for the Medicare and Medicaid managed care programs during their period of greatest growth. He left HCFA in July 1996 to found Managed Care Compliance Solutions, the predecessor firm to GHG.
