ABSTRACT
The timeliness of retail pharmacy claims makes them an attractive data source for calculating risk predictions. Pharmacy claims are typically processed at the point of sale and made available for analysis in less than 30 days. They require minimal demographic and pharmacy data to generate prospective health risk assessment and appear to have comparable predictive power to traditional diagnosis-based models.
Claims-based predictive models based on readily-available pharmaceutical claims information can provide substantial advantage in managing risk by helping plans intervene with high risk individuals and contract more effectively. Discover how in this free presentation.
